Teatro Sociale

Built to a design by Giuseppe Cusi (1811-13), on the area of the destroyed castle called the Round Tower. It has a neoclassical façade preceded by a portico of six Corinthian columns.

The interior, modified in 1855 by the architect Ruspini, presents in time, a painting by G. Speluzzi. The Social hosted famous artists: by Nicolò Paganini to Giuditta Pasta to Francesco Tamagno.

In 1944, having been badly damaged La Scala in Milan from the war, he was able to replace the famous theater, becoming the seat of an intense opera season.
